2024 Featured Chefs
Susie Ulloa and Jorge Villalobos

Susie Ulloa and Jorge Villalobos were born and raised in Bogota, Colombia. They moved to Florida with their children, Laura and Sergio, in 1999 leaving their country behind due to security issues.

In 2006, Jorge opened The Best Restoration, company which has grown from a “one man” operation to 27 full-time employees, an area rug plant for cleaning and repairs, and a property turnover business with 16 additional full-time employees. Meanwhile, Susie graduated nursing school from Santa Fe College in Gainesville and has worked in different nursing fields, most recently in Oncology. They have invested a lot of effort in their personal growth and have established their home in Gainesville.

Locally in the community, Jorge and The Best Restoration have received various recognitions from The Chamber of Commerce, The North Central Florida Apartments Association and several other non-profits with whom they actively collaborate on a regular basis. One of these organizations is Peaceful Paths, where Susie has been a member of the Board of Directors and Executive committee.

They can be seen happily serving their meals at Guest Chef Gainesville every year, and most importantly, they proudly call themselves “allies for life” to this important cause.
